At South Broadway Art Project, we host 8 week pottery classes in partnership with St. Louis Community College - Continuing Education Program. Interested students should register online through STLCC HERE and questions about classes should be directed to SBAP by phone or email. SBAP office is open Tuesday thru Friday.

Enhance your skills by learning how to center, open, pull and make small cups and bowls while finishing pottery with various painting and glazing methods. Delve into hand-building with clay utilizing pinch, coil and slab methods to make functional, decorative, and sculptural pottery. Beginners will start with the basics, intermediate and advanced students will expand and level-up their handbuilding skills, projects and techniques while also experiencing finishing their pottery with various painting and glazing methods. Making multiples in a set is a common and challenging endeavor for potters. To successfully accomplish this task, you need to have a well-considered plan of attack. Work out the kinks and learn some helpful tips and tricks and ease into a rhythm and fine-tune your process making multiples in a set of plates, bowls and tumblers while having meaningful learning opportunities to work out the kinks. Class also includes 8 hours of independent studio time Wednesday thru Sunday.
Supply Fees: One fee covers all supply costs at $6.50 a pound. All supplies are provided by SBAP and students only pay clay, glaze, fire fees for work you keep.

Continuing Education Pottery Classes are located at South Broadway Art Project: 3816 S. Broadway St. Louis Mo. 63118
We will work with you to make sure you can make-up your absences. If you know ahead of time that you will be absent contact your instructor to figure out if you need to attend another class time or just come in to work independently.
Parking is on street parking on S. Broadway. Students almost always find parking right out front of the studios.
8 Week classes include extra studio time to help you get the time you need to practice, process, repeat as well as finishing projects and taking your time to paint and glaze. Usually students need about 4 extra studio hours but we are flexible on extra studio time so that students do not feel the need to rush.
